Who should apply for the UK Excellence Award
A profile of a typical UKEA applicant can be summarised as follows:
- your most important results have been improving for 3 - 5 years
- systematic improvement has been a way of life across your organisation for at least 3 years
- you have a number of organisation-wide improvement programmes
- you have your major processes under control and have improved them through regular review
- some of your approaches are perceived to be good examples for others to learn from
- the required level of Excellence for organisations entering in this process is above 350 points using an Excellence Model assessment.
This score level would indicate that your organisation is well organised, delivers its mission and, over time, has improved its effectiveness and efficiency
There are two methods of applying for the UKEA:
- Classic approach - you submit a 75 page document describing how your organisation addresses the 32 criterion parts of the Excellence Model. This is assessed by a team of specially trained assessors, followed by a site visit to validate the evidence given
- Flexible approach - you submit 2 sets of pro-formas (15 pages each) detailing your results and mapping where the evidence can be found during a fairly intensive on-site assessment by specially trained assessors.
For more details about either of these approaches, or to discuss a possible award application, please contact the Awards Manager, Sally Green by e-mail or telephone on 0207 654 5010
